Thanksgiving is only a week away now, and both food banks in Northern Colorado are in critical need of frozen turkey's to meet the communities needs. As someone who feels fortunate to get to spend Thanksgiving in a nice warm home surrounded by family and good food, I ask that you help feed those who are less fortunate this holiday season.

The Weld Food Bank only has one-third of the turkeys it needs to fill Thanksgiving orders. The food bank helps 102 nonprofit organizations across Weld County. Those agencies have placed holiday meal orders that doubled last year’s need. The food bank needs 1,000 turkeys by next week. And that is just for the Thanksgiving orders.

Meanwhile, the Food Bank for Larimer County is also short nearly 1,000 turkeys.

TO HELP -

The Weld Food Bank is located at 1108 H St., Greeley. You can also donate turkey's from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Walmarts in Evans, Greeley and Longmont. Turkeys may also be dropped off at any Wing Shack location in Greeley and Windsor.

You can donate turkey's to the Food Bank for Larimer County all this week form 7:30am-4:30pm in Fort Collins at 1301 Blue Spruce.

Please help us in seeing that no one in Northern Colorado goes hungry this Thanksgiving!
