Inspired by a book called Crenshaw, about a boy named Jackson whose family has hit hard times, where food is scarce and rent is behind, Old Firehouse Books is holding a food drive and bookmark design contest all month long to help out the Larimer County Food Bank. The food drive will last the whole month of October. Old Firehouse Books is located in Old Town Fort Collins at 232 Walnut Street.

Old Firehouse Books to Host “fill the tower” Food Drive for Larimer County Food Bank Help Old Firehouse Books “fill the tower” with food for the Larimer County Food Bank! Old Firehouse Books in collaborating with author Katherine Applegate is hosting a food drive for the month of October to help end childhood hunger. The bookstore with the most food raised will receive a special visit from Applegate.

Old Firehouse Books is also hosting a bookmark design contest! Children are invited to draw their imaginary friend on a special blank bookmark and submit it with an item of non-perishable food. Winner(s) of the contest will have their drawing printed and also win a prize.
