A barn just east of Windsor caught fire early Wednesday morning and burned about 100 tons of hay according to TheDenverChannel.com. The Windsor-Severance Fire Department contacted us to say the hay may smolder over the next few days and that smoke may be visible in the Windsor area.

All of the farm’s horses were outside the barn when the fire started.

More than 20 firefighters from three agencies fought the fire. Because there were no fire hydrants in the area, firefighters had to set up a water shuttle to fight the fire.

There’s no word yet what started the fire.
