Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is a new one to me. Currently, it's a trending topic on Facebook, because it's showing up all over the place. Recently there was an outbreak on the CU campus. As parents, we are being warned to watch for it to avoid sending our kids to school with it. So far, none of my three kids have ever had this virus.

Hand, Foot and Mouth is easily spread through mucus and saliva. The symptoms seem very much like the flu. A fever and sore throat, but the difference will be the itchy red spots that show up on your hands, feet and mouth. It takes about a week to go away.  Children are most commonly affected by this disease, but adults can definitely catch it, just like several CU students did.
