Greeley Fire Department Quickly Extinguishes House Fire – Two Dogs Lost in the Blaze [PICTURES]

Firefighters from the Greeley Fire Department battled a house fire in the 4900 block of  7^th St. on Tuesday. Unfortunately two family dogs were lost in the blaze, but there were no injuries to the family or to firefighters.

When firefighters arrived all occupants were out of the home.  Because of size of the fire upon arrival, a second alarm was called to bring more resources to the scene. A total of 4 Engine Companies, 1 Ladder Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and 5 command officers (25 total personnel) worked to bring the fire under control with 20 minutes.

No dollar amount damage estimate is available at this time and investigators are working to determine the cause.
