As the Greeley Tribune reported, there is never a dull moment for law enforcement and the dispatchers in the Greeley-Evans area. Check out the latest crime log below.

Wednesday, July 8

3 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a retail store in the 3100 block of 23rd Avenue for a report of a woman spitting on employees.

9 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a retail store in the 3100 block of 23rd Avenue for a report of a driver backing up repeatedly into a tree.

9:30 p.m.: Evans police responded to Denver Street for an unknown problem. The caller was less than cooperative with Weld County dispatchers, saying simply, “Evans police will know what I am talking about.” Police did not know what the caller was talking about.

Thursday, July 9

7 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 4100 block of Centerplace Drive for a report of an unoccupied motorized wheelchair laying on its side on the sidewalk.

8:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1100 block of 18th Street for a report of a neighbor piling dog litter on a man’s porch. Police told the man it was not a police matter and advised him to talk to the dog owner about the issue.

3:30 p.m.: Greeley police responded to 10th Street for a report of a kid who urinated on another child, as well as on the floor.

7:15 p.m.: A Greeley resident in the 2400 block of 8th Avenue called Weld County dispatch and demanded an officer call him back to direct him to the nearest bus stop.

7:30 p.m.: Weld County dispatchers took a call from a man who claimed someone had stolen his identity and was responsible for a traffic citation he had received. “I know there is cameras everywhere, I’m not trying to run,” the man said. “When they got pulled over, they might be wearing the same thing as me, but it wasn’t me. Someone is playing mind games.” The man then suggested police should do a better job of identifying people. “When you guys pull over people, they should use the micro-gram fingerprinting thing — they sell them worldwide,” the man said. “I don’t know who’s doing this, but I’m not taking the fall.” Dispatchers quickly determined the man was calling from detox and learned from employees he wasn’t very happy about being there.

8:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 4200 block of Centerplace Drive for a report of a man wearing a Cincinnati Bengals jersey who was not “acting like normal people act.”

Friday, July 10

4:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to 18th Avenue Court and Lakeside Drive for a report of a “Hobo Camp” in the wildlife sanctuary. Police were unable to locate said camp.

4:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the hospital in the 1800 block of 16th Street after the wife of a patient accused nurses of trying to kill her husband because they were “taking lots of blood from his body, but not putting it back.”

5:15 p.m.: A Greeley resident granted temporary custody of her grandchild called Weld County dispatch and asked if she would have to give the child back if the “birth canal that is his mother” returns to Greeley from Nebraska.
