Colorado's tax revenues from legal pot sales are exceeding expectations, and the governor plans on taking full advantage of the new income.

Newly-released budget projections from the governor's office indicate the state expects to make $45 million from the excise tax alone next fiscal year.

Sales tax projections indicate an additional $70 million is possible from sales tax revenues during the same period.

I gotta say it's nice to see Colorado's economy getting this boost.  Whether you're a pot user or not (I'm not, FYI), this is the kind of thing that helps everyone; and I gotta say, it makes me proud to live in Colorado.
