As a cookie fanatic, I must say that this time of year has got to be right up there with Christmas! Its Girl Scout Cookie time! What makes these cookies so good? I'm not really sure, maybe its a physiological thing. At $3.50 a box they better taste pretty darn good! This got me thinking though, where does my $52.50 go for the fifteen boxes I got to stock up for the next few months?

According to Girlsscoutcookies.org the money is used to recruit and train volunteer adults to work with girls, provide the financial assistance needed to make Girl Scouting available for all girls, improve and maintain camp and other activity sites, and keep event/camp fees for all members to a minimum. All this for the purpose of helping all girls realize their full potential and become strong, confident, and resourceful citizens.

Sounds like a winner to me, and the the $700 million Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the country. This means it shouldn't be hard to pick up a box of Thin Mints or Tagalongs from your local troop. If you still have trouble finding a scout near you there is plenty more info on their website at  Girlsscoutcookies.org.
