The Taste of Fort Collins, The Colorado Brewers’ Festival and Bohemian Nights at New West Fest. The three ‘biggies’ each summer in Downtown Fort Collins, draw tens of thousands of people to town. With all those people, comes a need for parking. That’s where the two parking structures in downtown are coming in to help you out… and help themselves.

Normally, parking on Saturdays at the two structures is $1 per hour (the first hour is always free), but with you, me and everybody else wanting to hang out ALL day in downtown, that could add up to be a hefty parking tab. For these specific events, the city is going to charge a FLAT $5 for parking at the Civic Center Parking Garage. At the Mason Parking Structure, the $5 flat rate will only apply to New West Fest, the other events will have normal pricing.

I see it as a win-win for the city: A- They’re charging you less if you want to stay for extended period of time at these events, which is good P.R. B- If you DON’T stay for more than a few hours, they’re making a pretty tidy profit- as spaces aren’t likely to remain untaken.

Also- be sure to get extra cash before coming to park, because it’ll be $5 – CASH for those Saturdays. On the Sundays of the events, it’ll be business as usual $0. Sunday is always free at the structures. The MAX will also be running on Sunday for the events, when normally MAX is not in operation on Sunday.

All in all, it’s a great deal. Big cities like Denver would be charging you $20 flat for parking… so let’s get to Downtown Fort Collins and have some fun!
