Free Krispy Kreme Donuts on National Talk Like a Pirate Day

X marks the spot at Krispy Kreme on National Talk Like a Pirate Day, which is happening in September.

Krispy Kreme says they'll give you a free Original Glazed doughnut if you talk like a pirate to them on September 19 at participating locations.

One doughnut/donut not enough for you? If you show up wearing full pirate attire, Krispy Kreme will send you home with one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for free. To be eligible for the dozen doughnuts, they say you need to wear at least 3 of these qualifying items from their official list:

• Eye patch
• Pirate hat
• Pirate flag
• Bandana
• Peg leg
• Parrot on shoulder
• Pirate shirt / Loose white shirt
• Knickers
• Leather belt
• Silver and gold necklaces and earrings
• Pirate hook
• Pointy black boots or ragged brown sandals

The doughnut shop stresses there are no weapons allowed as part of their pirate attire when trying to get a free dozen doughnuts from them on National Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Hate dressing up but love Snapchat? You can also qualify for that dozen Original Glazed doughnuts if you use the Krispy Kreme Snapchat filter that day to "dress up." Show them your snap to get qualified.

Colorado Krispy Kreme locations participating in the free doughnut promotion on September 19 include the Krispy Kreme on the 16th Street Mall in Denver, Krispy Kreme in Lone Tree on Parkway Avenue, and in Thornton on East 120th Avenue. Their hours of operation vary, so be sure to check those before stopping by too early or late.
