Fraud Alert — Phony Package Delivery Email Scam Reported

From the Larimer County Sheriff's Office in Berthoud a new fraud alert has been issued. Be on the look out for phony package delivery email scam.

The scam involves an email telling you that there has been an attempt to deliver a package. The notification email is a scam and will have you clicking a link within the email that will download a virus to your computer. The virus will then search your computer for personal information, including your financial records.

Authorities warn that if you are expecting a package and are concerned, contact the shipping company directly, do NOT click the link within the email.
