We use utilities literally every single day. We use them at home, and we work in places that do. Fort Collins is set to see an increase in the cost of them in 2015.

As the Coloradoan reported, residents throughout Fort Collins will see a change in the costs of electric, water and other services in the new year.

So what will the increase look like? Here is how the rates will look:

• Residential: 1.6 percent increase

• Residential demand: 11.3 percent decrease

• Small commercial: 6.5 percent increase

• Mid-size commercial: 0.2 percent decrease

• Large commercial: 2.0 percent increase

• Industrial: 1.8 percent increase

To compare though, Fort Collins Utilities has been rated as having the ninth-lowest rates in the state for residential, seventh-lowest for small commercial, fifth-lowest for large commercial and lowest overall for industrial.
