According to the Coloradoan, the repaving project on Taft Hill Road will cause major closures in the area with the hopeful completion date of July 6th. The stretch of road that will be affected during this time frame will be from Drake Road to Laporte on Taft.

The first phase started this week which saw crews start the repaving between Laporte and Mulberry. Regular traffic that uses this stretch of road will be closed off from it until this Friday. If you are a resident or business owner in this area, you'll only be able to access it from southbound on Taft Hill.

The second phase of the project will close Taft Hill from Mulberry to West Elizabeth. The third and final phase will go from Elizabeth to Drake. Officials have not been able to give a specific start or end date for the last two phases of the project. However, each phase is only expected to last four to five days.

The last time Taft Hill Road was worked on was back in 2004 and officials hope the improvements done this month will stretch the lifespan of the road out even further.

The estimated cost to the city for the entire improvement project is just over two million dollars.
