Fort Collins citizens no longer have to worry about sketchy situations happening at their home during Craigslist or Facebook Group exchanges of items for sale.

Police have designated the Fort Collins police station's public lobby at 2221 S. Timberline Road as well as the north public parking lot as exchange zones for citizens who want to trade, sell, or buy items.

The lobby is open for exchanging of goods Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The north parking lot is open as an exchange zone 24/7, 7 days a week.

Both zones are well-lit and are equipped with video surveillance.

Items not permitted for exchange in these zones include weapons, drugs, and other illegal items. Police are unable to provide individual protection, legal advice, or opinions regarding value, authenticity, or legitimacy of any exchange that takes place in the safe zones provided by Fort Collins Police Services.
