Fort Collins Police Officers and Off-Duty Firefighter Save Restaurant [PICTURES]
Two Fort Collins police officers and an off-duty Poudre Fire Authority firefighter helped save a restaurant from burning down while they were having lunch there.
Justin Gallimore, Matt Hahn, and Justin's brother, Jason were having lunch at Chili House restaurant, at 4200 South College, when they were alerted to a fire in the kitchen. They immediately took action by notifying dispatchers, evacuating the business and attempting to extinguish the fire located on and above a stove. Using two fire extinguishers they were able to slow the fire but not fully extinguish it.
Firefighters arrived a short time later. They were able to contain fire and heat damage to the kitchen hood vent system. Smoke damage also occurred throughout the kitchen. Investigators are working to determine an origin and cause.
