Over 15 years ago, the world was introduced to a young boy from Fort Collins, Jake Lloyd. Jake had gotten the role of the young Darth Vader in the upcoming re-launch of the ‘Star Wars’ franchise- He would star as Anakin Skywalker!

Jake was arrested in 2015, for taking his car on a high-speed escape the police. Fame- It comes with a price. Get the update on the story; as it seems to have taken a sad, but hopeful turn.

It’s hard for anyone to say exactly how they would turn out, if they were given the role of a lifetime with so much life left to live afterwards. Jake Lloyd, who as a little kid lived in Fort Collins, was only eight years old when he landed the role as Anakin Skywalker in 'The Phantom Menace.' 18 years later, he’s fleeing from the cops at 100 mph, crashing into trees and spending a least one night in jail. What the what?

In June of 2015, he was in South Carolina when police tried to pull him over (for what, the reports don’t mention.) He took off at speeds upwards of 100 mph through two counties, crashing through a fence and into the woods where he crashed his car. The report at the time of his arrest, says he gave his name as being Jake Broadbent.

Jake went to prison on the charges of reckless driving, failure to stop, and driving without a license. Now, after 10 months behind bars, he's been transferred to a psychiatric facility to be treated for schizophrenia. Schizophrenia can be a very serious and scary condition for the patients, their families and their friends.

Jake is currently 27. Hopefully, by the time he's 28 he'll be back on his feet. You don't have to be a movie-star to live a happy life!
