What seemed like a routine traffic stop in Fort Collins turned into a warrant weapons and narcotics bust in which a man tried to slam a door on a police officer.

At approximately 8:34 a.m. Saturday, a Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputy conducted a traffic stop at West Drake and South Shields in Fort Collins. As it turned out, the passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant and the deputy advised him he was under arrest.

Identified as Wilson John Robert Jack, 24, the man allegedly reached toward the floorboard of the vehicle twice, finally exiting the vehicle after additional law enforcement officers arrived to assist.

Once outside the car, Jack tried to slam the door on the deputy. After a short struggle, he was taken into custody.

Through investigation, police found a loaded handgun on the floorboard by the passenger seat where Jack had been reaching. A second loaded handgun was found between the driver's seat and the center console. Jack was also found to be in possession of narcotics.

He was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon by previous offender, resisting arrest, and warrant for a driver's license violation with bond set at $2,750.

No injuries were reported in this incident.
