Fort Collins Loses Pinnacle of Real Estate Development in Bob Everitt

A pillar of Fort Collins has passed away.

According to the Coloradoan, real estate developer Bob Everitt passed away at 87 years after a brief illness.

Everitt was founder of Everitt Companies, and he had a hand in developing some of Fort Collins most well known buildings, malls, hospitals, university buildings and developments; like the Foothills Mall, Oakridge Business Park, Indian Hills, University Acres, Centre for Advanced Technology, Foothills East, Prospect Springs and many other  commercial and residential buildings.

Without him, the city of Fort Collins wouldn't look the same.

Starting by opening a retail lumberyard in 1953 after he moved his family from Oklahoma, Bob and his father Les soon set their eyes on real estate. The growth of Northern Colorado helped their business grow, and Everitt Companies soon were providing residential lots for local builders. They also helped develop many retail and medical spaces to meet the demands of the growing community.

In the 1980's, they sold the lumber business, and the next generation of the family continued, with Bob, to grow their real estate and other interests. They are now four generations deep in serving, building, and acting as great philanthropists in Northern Colorado.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 23 at the Lory Student Center's grand ballroom at CSU.
