Every year, 50,000 people visit the Gardens on Spring Creek, and the location is getting closer to adding a new concert venue that will draw even more of an audience.

According to the Coloradoan, the Gardens on Spring Creek are in the process of getting final approval for a $2.5 million expansion that would add an additional five acres of gardens and a concert area that will include a stage and lawn that can accommodate 1,500 people.

The Gardens are following the model set by the Denver gardens who hosts several concerts every summer. This year they have scheduled Guster, UB40 and Bruce Hornsby.

I was able to see Colbie Caillat a few years ago, and it was an amazing experience seeing that quality artist in such a beautiful setting. The development and concert plan is shooting for 8 concerts a year, with all events ending at 8 p.m. as to not disturb the surrounding neighborhoods. If all goes as planned, construction of the new expansion should break ground later this year (2016).
