Fort Collins Police have arrested the man responsible for the hit-and-run collision on February 29 near College Avenue and Spring Park Drive involving a pedestrian named George Taylor.

According to police, a silver 2008 Hummer H3 became a vehicle of interest after investigators studied video surveillance footage from nearby businesses. The vehicle was located on March 4 at Drake Road and Meadowlark Avenue, with the owner being identified as Lance Ray, 37, of Fort Collins.

Evidence and the interview process indicated that Ray and his silver Hummer H3 were involved in the collision.

He was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a serious bodily injury collision (class 4 felony) on March 21, with a warrant issued for his arrest. Ray voluntarily turned himself in to the Larimer County Jail.

George Taylor was determined to have been intoxicated during the incident, and was lying in the roadway at the time he was hit. He was cited for being an intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.
