It’s a high school run by parents, charted by the Poudre School District. It’s Liberty Common, and they ‘crushed It’ in Colorado rankings; shining a light on how much work the other schools in the PSD need to accomplish.

U.S. News & World Report looked at over 29,000 of the nation's public schools, ranking the top in each state. Colorado has 448 high schools, 119 of them meeting U.S. News & World Report’s criteria with Liberty Common in Fort Collins coming out on top! Liberty Common is a school that drives its students in college potential and readiness; that’s one of the key factors that put them on top in the ranking.

U.S. News notes that all students at Liberty take advanced placement coursework and examinations. It rates Liberty students as 100 percent proficient in reading, 95 percent proficient in mathematics and gave Liberty students a score of 89.3 in its college readiness index.

Overall, U.S. News rated Poudre School District students 75 percent proficient in reading, 43 percent proficient in mathematics and with a college readiness index score of 46.7.

That ‘College Readiness’ index comparison is harsh! 89.3 to 46.7. Looking at that data, if you wanted your child to attend college you’d either be- clammering to get them in to Liberty Common, or you’d be attending school board meetings to have them bring up the numbers in the other Poudre School District schools!
