The Food Bank for Larimer County was facing a serious turkey shortage this month. That has all changed thanks to the generous people that live in our community! As of last week there were only 300 turkeys donated, which was a far cry away from the 2,500 turkeys the food bank set for a goal.

According to the Coloradoan, as of Monday morning, more than 4,500 turkeys have been donated to the Food Bank for Larimer County.  Spokeswoman Lauren Mingus said "So many great stories have emerged with each donation, and meeting all of the different donors has been amazing," she also added  "In fact, we just had a single dad, who used to use the Food Bank, donate 100 turkeys."

All of the extra donations made it possible to fulfill every request for a turkey and those on the waiting list as well!

A big congratulations is in order for Bacon Elementary school! They collected the most turkeys in the district this year with a huge count of 371! Way to go Bacon Elementary!
