Warm up from the winter weather this weekend by popping your head into the Fort Collins Museum of Art, for the final two days of the featured Marilyn Monroe exhibit, Marilyn: Celebrating an American Icon.

Visitors of all kinds will appreciate this exhibit for capturing the realness and rawness of the beautiful blonde's short, but action-packed life.

Guests can view many different interpretations of the late American icon, through various mediums. From the photographs to the paintings, one is able to get a glimpse into Monroe's inner feelings and thoughts before her tragic passing. From the outside, Monroe's life may have seemed dazzling and glamorous, but these artists were able to show viewers the hidden misery and loneliness that was the reality of her private life.

You'll see some of the classic Marilyn pictures that you are used to seeing, but you will also get a peek into so much more – like the photograph she claimed was her favorite ever to be taken. The exhibit even includes a photo booth where visitors can put on Marilyn-esque costumes and pose with her figure featuring her recognizable white dress. The image of Monroe in the white dress was just recently decided upon as the Symbol of the Century.

The Fort Collins Museum of Art is open Wednesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and
Saturday and Sunday noon – 5 p.m. It is located at 201 South College Ave. in Old Town Fort Collins. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students with valid ID and adults 65 and over, and $2 for youth (7-18). Children 6 and under free and FCMOA members always get in for free.
