Exciting news for Fort Collins! Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff was in Fort Collins on Monday, May 21 to visit the future site of MAX Bus Rapid Transit and to sign a $49 million construction grant agreement for the five-mile project. What does MAX mean to Fort Collins?

MAX will reduce travel times, improve connections to other regional transit service, and spur economic development along the Mason Corridor in Fort Collins.

“The Obama Administration is committed to bringing more good transportation choices to cities like Fort Collins so that hard-working families, students, and seniors have affordable access to jobs, school, medical appointments, and all the city’s attractions,” said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. “This BRT service is an excellent investment in Fort Collins’ future economic growth and sustainability.”

Construction on the MAX project will begin in June.  Follow progress on the Mason Corridor at fcgov.com/mason.
