The Colorado Judicial Branch is committed to providing those without an attorney with the information and education they need to be prepared to appear before a judge. There is no cost to attend.

“Legal Resource Day is an opportunity for pro se litigants to come to the courthouse to learn more about court procedures and processes to have an effective day in court,” Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Nancy Rice said. “I sincerely hope many people will come to learn more about the judicial system and I look forward to hosting more of these clinics in the future.”

Chief Justice Rice will kick off Legal Resource Day at 10 a.m. with opening remarks welcoming participants and providing an overview of the sessions being offered. The hour-long sessions will be taught by volunteer lawyers and include:

  • Civil protection orders
  • Options for grandparents
  • Civil appeals
  • Myth busters for divorce cases
  • How to collect on a money judgment
  • Child support and parenting time
  • How to seal my criminal case
  • The ins and outs of evictions
  • The basics of court procedures
