The Coloradoan is reporting:

One group wants to turn Estes Park into a year-round tourism destination by creating a ski area and adventure park on the state’s oldest continually operating hotel.

Elkhorn Lodge grew even before Estes Park was officially a town – and even before Colorado was a state. It boasted the first school in Estes Park, and has been a tourism destination for generations.

But the current owner wants to sell it, as many of the buildings are in need of work and the facility struggles to make money.
