Everyday is Elk Fest in Estes Park if you live there. I spent the better part of 15 years in what I think is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Well this weekend (Oct 1st and 2nd) you can check out Elk Fest in downtown Estes Park and Bond Park, and surrounding areas.

The festival is free but for fees for the elk bugling contest and elk viewing bus tours. How's your bugling? Could you attract a female elk ?

The festival features bugling contests, educational areas, exhibits, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, elk seminars, a Mountain Man Rendezvous, Native American music, dancing and storytelling and elk-viewing bus tours. The aptly named music group Elk Hollow performs both days.

So get the family into the car and enjoy the scenic ride up the Big Thompson Canyon to Elk Fest in Estes Park.
