Douglas County Sheriff's Office Police Patrol K9s are now equipped with new ballistic vests from a Groupon fundraiser.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and Groupon raised over $39,000 in a nationwide Groupon event called "Goods Pet Collection." The event ran May 11 through May 25, 2015, suggesting a $10 donation online with Groupon purchases. 100% of those donations were allocated to purchase ballistic vests for the doggie crime fighters that put their lives on the line for our community.

Each vest is valued between $1,795 and $2,234 with a 5-year warranty.

Scooter and Atlas from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were recipients of new ballistic vests (below).
