It was nothing heroic when I donated 2 perfectly good bikes to Bikes for Tykes several years ago.  They weren't being used by my husband or me, I was tired of having them in the way in the garage, and given the choice of riding a bike or my horse, you can guess the outcome. I imagine that some child got my Trek cross trainer (from Lee's) and had miles of adventures on it.

Realities For Children’s 18th annual Bikes for Tykes drive is going on now. The program provides nearly 500 bikes through community members donating used or new bicycles to local at-risk youth in Larimer County.
Take bicycles to:
The Phoenix Cyclery, 1532 E. Mulberry, Suite D
Lee’s Cyclery, 202 W. Laurel
Lee’s Cyclery, 931 E. Harmony
Lee’s Cyclery of Loveland, 4880 Thompson Pkwy.
Breakaway Cycles, 2237 W. Eisenhower.

Bikes should be in reasonable working condition and suitable for children ages 3-17. Realities For Children Charities will also distribute the bikes and new helmets. The donation deadline is Dec. 15.
