When someone asks me what the essential item is for a new mom and baby, I say "a carrier." For me, it was a way to free up my arms to make dinner, get through the airport, or go grocery shopping. Right now, there is a greater need for the baby carriers, the Syrian refugees. My friend Dr. Kim Bruno has started the NoCo Baby Carrier Drive to help the thousands of moms and dads with small children fleeing for their lives, arriving in Greece.

There are newborn babies, infants and toddlers being swept into crazy situations and parents desperately trying to keep track of their kids, while leaving everything else behind and stepping onto a rubber boat over freezing waters. My heart hurts for these exhausted and scared Syrian refugees and that is why I am asking for your help.

The NoCo Baby Carrier Drive goes until the end of the year. All the collected new or used baby carriers will be donated to the coast of Greece as the refugees arrive with their children, through the established charity of Carry the Future.  If you do not have a carrier and would still like to help, please consider buying a carrier (new or used – Craigslist or Once Upon a Child always have them) and donating it.
