Whenever this time of year rolls around, I find myself stuck in a tug-of-war of political correctness.  Should I wish people "Merry Christmas," or "Happy Holidays?"  Even after so many years, I honestly haven't settled on one over the other!

Even as someone who celebrates Christmas, I don't really mind when others wish me "Happy Holidays;" but I have to wonder, what if it was the other way around?  What if I didn't celebrate Christmas?  Would I mind if people wished me a merry Christmas?  I'm really not sure.  I might be a little offended, but I think I would still appreciate the sentiment.

It seems to me like most retail companies prefer "Happy Holidays," and I get that.  They don't want to alienate any of their customers.

But is it really that big of a deal to begin with?  Can't we all just get along, especially this time of year?

Where do you stand?
