Did Katy Perry Date Josh Groban?

I'm a big fan of both Katy Perry and Josh Groban. So I was stunned to find out that the two of them.... MAY have been a couple.

Josh Groban and Katy Perry.They both have tons of fans. Count ME as one in both clubs.

Josh is getting ready to release a new album, 'All That Echoes', and is doing some press for it; including an interview with Details magazine.  Within that interview, somehow Katy Perry came up, and he was asked if he ever dated Katy.  Josh said that he and Katy became close friends early on:

"We met before her first album was even released, and we hit it off because we're both goofballs."

But he was kind of vague when the question of 'Did they goof-around?' came up-

I'm not commenting on that.  We might have skated on the line of dating."

'Skated the line?' Who even talks like that?

It's just hard for me to imagine Katy and Josh even getting to know each other- they seem so different.

But then, I don' t know anything. I didn't even know that Josh had a serious relationship (2 1/2 years) with January Jones- who plays Don Draper's ex-wife on Mad Men. What?
