The 3-hour premiere of the Bachelor was on ABC last night.

Jordan Branch, a 24-year-old woman who grew up in Greeley, moved to Windsor when she was 14, and currently resides in Denver, is on the show, and that brought the excitement level of the show up a few notches.

I have been trying to interview her since I heard she'd be on The Bachelor, and have managed to get her on the phone. All the contestants sign fairly bulletproof contracts that prevent them from talking about the show to anyone, including, and probably especially, the media. Our talk was on a strictly off the record basis, and the main thing that I learned is that she had a great experience, and would do an interview with me if and when she was booted from the show. That time has not yet come. She received a rose and will be on the show through at least next week.

They started with a live red carpet opening where past contestants showed up for the kickoff. During the countdown to the first limo, former stars of the show talked about how things were going for them, weighed in on the new Bachelor, Chris Soules, also known as "Prince Farming". There were a few segments that they used to introduce Chris, and especially for people from the rural areas of Northern Colorado, he seemed to be a pretty solid guy.

There were also a few clips that introduced some of the girls. Often, these are used to show the standouts from the season, and I was hoping to see Jordan in one of them, but she wasn't. We would have to wait until the final hour of the show for her to step out of the limo.

She finally showed up, and like many of the girls, was ready with a gimmick to help Chris remember her by when he finally made his way into the mansion to mingle with the singles. Her gimmick? Whiskey. She presented him with a mini bottle, had one for her self, and they had a toast to the possibilities.

After that, we saw very little of Jordan. She was featured in one clip where she expressed that she wasn't happy about the amount of competition she had to get some of Chris' attention. Then we pretty much didn't see her again until she was presented with a rose. On the way up to accept it, she stumbled a little bit, as if she tripped over her dress or a rug, and she accepted the rose.
