Denver Zoo Wants Your Help in Naming New Lion Cubs

Denver Zoo wants your help in naming two lion cubs, who were born September 10.  Zookeepers at the Benson Predator Ridge have selected their two favorite names chosen by residents from each of the seven counties that comprise the Scientific Cultural & Facilities District. This is the final round for Denver Zoo's lion-naming contest.

Each participant is asked to vote for their favorite male and female names from the list of 14 names from 7 counties.

Boy Names:

• Hudson
• Jasiri
• Kiburi
• Meru
• Elbert
• Kalu

Girl Names:

• Chiku
• Kamara
• Amani
• Neema
• Moremi
• Copper
• Sira

The cub’s mother is Neliah. They are currently living at the zoo's Benson Predator Ridge exhibit. Voting ends October 28.
