Denver Zoo Animals Blessed at Sunday Morning Church Service
Ten residents of Denver Zoo were blessed Sunday morning by pastors of Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church for a special “Blessing of the WILD Animals” service.
The non-denominational, event was meant as a celebration of life and all animals. The pastors of the church say they hope to make this an annual event.
According to The Zoo, an opossum, a tamandua (a kind of anteater), and a macaw were all part of the ceremony. I also saw a couple snakes, an alligator or crocodile, a turtle, and bird of prey in the photos. The ceremony was a little unorthodox, but yet, pretty cool.
