You could own something that is in a vault in Denver that has items worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Yes. Hundreds. Of millions. Of dollars.

The state of Colorado has an unclaimed property vault. A box of silver bricks. Diamonds. Vintage wines. Other items are more sentimental in value, like a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, earned by someone in service of our country.

Some of the items end up in a museum. Others will be sold, the proceeds go into an account that has more than $100 million in it as we speak.

These items are often found in safety deposit boxes of deceased people who had no will, but their property still deserves to go to their families. Until the state figures out who that is, they hold it for safe keeping. When they can, they find the owner and return the items.
Last year they returned over $30 million worth of items.
Could you own something in this vault?
