The Open Door Mission in Fort Collins has been helping people facing challenges in their lives for a long time. Homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness and people who just need help leading to a transition have sought the help of the Open Door mission.

Now, according to the Coloradoan, negotiations have started again to have the Denver Rescue Mission take over operations. Denver Rescue Mission operates Harvest Farm, a 209-acre farm and rehabilitation center in Wellington, as well as programs for the homeless in Denver.

Fort Collins only has a few programs that provide beds for the homeless, and the Open Door has almost half of them.
