Do you know a young athlete who dreams of dribbling up and down the court just like Faried – or maybe takes notes while watching Gallinari sink threes during Denver Nuggets games?

If so, then the Denver Nuggets Skills Challenge, coming to Greeley on January 9, is the perfect opportunity for youth basketball players between the ages of 7 and 14 years-old to show off their abilities on the hardwood and compete against others for the chance to advance to Sectionals, and ultimately earn a spot at the State Competition in April. The competition will challenge both boys and girls in the areas of dribbling, passing and shooting, with first, second and third place awards being handed out to the top ballers in each division. The top boy and girl in each division will advance to Sectionals. Winners of the State Finals will be recognized prior to a Nuggets home game against the Sacramento Kings, receive game tickets and additional prizes.

The Skills Challenge is being hosted by the City of Greeley's Culture, Parks and Recreation Department and the Denver Nuggets, and will be taking place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Greeley Family FunPlex, located at 1501 65th Avenue. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and this exciting and fun basketball competition is free to all participants. For more information, contact Justin Wells or Ashlynn Mondragon at 970-350-9401.
