It’s never a good day when police are called to a domestic violence call. This case was no exception, except for the fact that the police officer went beyond his call of duty to really help this woman out.

In April, Denver police were called to a report of domestic violence. Though we don’t really know the ‘why’ of the call, what is known is that the officer who arrived has a big heart.

Apparently the woman in the situation had been abandoned by her now ex-boyfriend after recently moving to Denver from Texas. She didn’t have any money and couldn’t get a hold of any family back in Texas to help out. It does kind of sound like a con. The officer on the scene must have taken the woman’s story to heart though, because he drove her to the Greyhound station and actually bought her a ticket back home at the cost of $150!

With this week being National Police Week, honoring those who swear a duty ‘to protect and to serve’, this is a pretty awesome story.
