The Jimmy John's sandwich chain says customer credit and debit card data were stolen from company-owned and franchise locations across the nation, including eight Colorado stores and even a store in Greeley.

According to 9News, the company said an intruder stole log-in credentials from Jimmy John's point-of-sale vendor to remotely access the payment systems at about 216 stores between June 16 and Sept. 5.

The company said it removed the malicious software and plans to install encrypted swipe machines, step up monitoring and take other precautions.

Jimmy John's Colorado locations affected are:

  • Denver, 622 16th St.
  • Golden, 1299 Washington Ave.

  • Longmont, 210 Ken Pratt Blvd. Suite 200 — 6/16/2014 - 7/25/2014.
