Damages to Fort Collins Businesses Estimated at $250,000
A man has been arrested after using a stolen vehicle to break into several businesses early yesterday morning. Around 2 A.M. November 1, 2017, Fort Collins Police received a report that a man drove a truck into Mulberry Max Liquor on South College and stole money from inside. The suspect used the same method to burglarize three more businesses on Lemay Avenue.
Those businesses are Thirsty’s Liquor, Lemay Liquor, and Relay Mail. Officers located the vehicle, at which time the suspect parked and fled on foot. He was apprehended and taken into custody. Detectives believe that the same suspect is also responsible for a burglary at Sushi Jeju on South College Avenue.
The impacted businesses were closed during the incident, and no employees or bystanders were injured. The combined cost of damage is expected to exceed $250,000.
The suspect, 31-year-old Evan Bissonnette, was booked into the Larimer County Jail.
