A Colorado State University police officer was seriously injured during a traffic stop at Prospect Road and Whitcomb Street on Thursday, September 7.

At 1:43 a.m., CSU Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, that was later determined to be stolen. During the stop, driver Dominic Charles Jackson of Fort Collins produced a gun and attempted to flee in the vehicle. One CSUPD officer was dragged by the vehicle and sustained injuries. The officer was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Suspect Arrested

The vehicle stopped after a short distance, and Jackson was taken into custody. No shots were fired during the incident. Charges are pending. Jackson was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He is not a student or employee at Colorado State University.  Fort Collins Police Services is leading the investigation.
