It was just last week that I wrote an article on this very website claiming that the Colorado State basketball team had a great chance at making the NCAA Tournament, but then CSU went and lost two games in a row, one by more than 30 points. I thought it may be time to say never mind to the thought of CSU playing in the “Big Dance” this March, that was until CSU upset nationally ranked San Diego State last night in Fort Collins.

Wes Eikmeier scored 19 points, Will Bell 17 and Dorian Green 12 for the Rams, who seized control early, built a 12-point lead by halftime and never let up while beating a nationally ranked opponent for the first time since 2004.

The Rams are now 14-6 and now have themselves a resume-building victory- The kind Colorado State University’s first win over a top-15 team in 28 years – provides. CSU has a chance to add to the resume as they play at nationally ranked UNLV Wednesday.
