Every college has something they are known for. When it comes to CSU, veterinary medicine is usually the first thing that comes to mind. So, it wouldn't surprise many to see how high is actually ranks in the nation.

Today, Colorado State’s Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program was officially announced and ranked as the third best graduate program in the entire country. To make their ranking even sweeter, the CSU veterinary program has been in the top three for over two decades now. In fact, many of the staff are world renowned and acknowledged for what they have done with animal science and medicine.

We’re proud and humbled to be recognized as one of the very best veterinary schools in the world, and we’re pleased to help represent overall excellence in teaching, research, outreach and clinical services at Colorado State. Veterinary medicine has a central role in supporting the health of livestock, horses, wildlife and pets, animals that are essential to our lives and livelihoods. Our profession has a critical role in improving the health of animals, people and the environment. It is exciting to see the impact our college makes in so many ways and in so many places - Dr. Mark Stetter/veterinarian and dean of CSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Starting back in 1907, Colorado State’s DVM Program caters to about 550 students, mostly in their third and fourth years. Most are there to fine tune clinical skills for general veterinary medicine and also specialty fields within the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories and the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
