Safeway is the latest to fall victim to a credit card skimming attack, with 3 Colorado stores being affected.

The grocery store confirmed Wednesday that skimmers were found on 3 point-of-sale machines in self checkout areas at Safeway stores on 9160 W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood, 3800 W. 44th Ave. in Denver, and 2752 Main St. In Conifer, after the threat was first reported by the online cyber security blog, Krebs on Security.

It is how many customers were affected by the breach.

Krebs said in its report that some Colorado consumers' debit accounts were mysteriously drained at ATMs. A follow-up investigaion revealed these debit cards had all been used to purchase goods from the compromised Safeway locations.

If you are concerned about possible fraud on your card, Safeway advises you to review your bank statements for fraudulent activity in November and contact your cardholder or bank directly.
