The tuition for in-state undergrad students at Colorado State University has gone up every year since 1970. But in actuality, with all things considered, is it as bad as it sounds? Currently at CSU, if you add of fees, housing, course materials, tuition and other student expenses, a students yearly cost has risen above $22,000. Since the 1970-71 school year, that is an increase of 133 percent. With his in mind, take into consideration that CSU is set to vote in May on a 6 percent tuition increase for Colorado undergrads.

When the Coloradoan asked students about the increase, they obviously we're happy about the bump in tuition. However they do see the benefits that having a CSU education provides and how the increase can lead to better amenities and resources. When asked about the continued trend of annual tuition increases, CSU officials point out that it is based on both internal and external factors, and that when taking inflation into account,, the cost is roughly the same as it was almost two decades ago.
