A restaurant in Colorado has taken away the right to tip to its customers. Instead they have added a service charge that guarantees a 20 percent tip regardless of service.

After reading what the Denver Channel reported, what this restaurant has done kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I worked in the service industry for many years, and the people that worked with me chose to work in that industry as well.

Being in the service industry means you are providing your customers with a service and your tip can be based upon that level of service for most customers.

A restaurant in Wheat Ridge, Colorado has instituted a no-tipping policy, but will add a 20 percent service charge to all customer bills to raise pay for staff and provide some benefits.

I can see both sides of this, but I lean more towards the right of a customer.

The restaurant claims that it will be able to offer benefits now to their employees with this new policy.

What if the service is horrible?

The restaurant also says they will have extra staff as well to make the service stand out even more.

What do you think on this?

Should this become a growing trend across Colorado?
