Do you like to rock? Famed composer and theater director Andrew Lloyd Webber has taken the high-energy and heart-warming story of the movie "School of Rock" to a smash musical on Broadway.

In a rare move, Webber has released the rights to youth performance groups across the nation and the Midtown Arts Center Kids Academy in Fort Collins has been selected to produce the Colorado statewide premiere.

Michael Lasris, the Academy Principal, says, “The story allows us to present the power of music in a fun and accessible way to families of all ages. In School of Rock, the students grow and become empowered thanks to a teacher presenting music as a fun expressive art form. It is the perfect story to illustrate the arts as a crucial part of any young person's development.”

31 kids, from 3rd to 12th grades will perform the adaptation of "School of Rock" on May 7 at Noon; May 8 at 7 pm; May 11 at 7 pm; May 14 at Noon and May 15 at 7 pm.
