Colorado police officers went out of their way to help a Girl Scout troop after a thief stole their cookie money on Saturday.

Denver7 reports Aurora police got a call that Girl Scout Troop 2556 had their money box stolen while they were selling cookies at a King Soopers location on East Colfax in Aurora. The suspect, described as a black man, 17 to 20 years old, around 5 feet, 7 inches tall, wearing a white bandana, black hoodie, and black pants, walked away with $325 in the box.

Not only are police on the hunt for the suspect - at least 20 officers responded to donate their own money or buy a box of Girl Scout cookies.

"It's kind of why I got in the line of work, to help people and do what I can," Aurora Police Officer Ryan Wenke told Denver7. "All their hard work went down the drain."

Officer Jared Krieger also told Denver7, "We want to make sure we do what we can to give back to the community, so in this instance, we decided to donate some money."

If you have information on the suspect described, please contact Officer Krieger at 303-739-6099 ext: 49278.
