The owner of a pet store in Colorado has been convicted of animal cruelty after confining animals in unsanitary conditions.

Kenneth Kubic, 61, was convicted on Friday of 18 counts of animal cruelty, the Denver Post reports. Prosecutors alleged he neglected kittens, hedgehogs, reptiles, and rodents in his Thornton, Colorado, store called Jurassic Pets, leaving them in unsanitary conditions without food, water, and care.

Some of the animals died, says Denver7.

Kubic will be sentenced in June, but he isn't the only one in his family that is facing charges.

Kubic's son, 22-year-old Brian, pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty. A trial is set in June for Kubic's wife, Lynn, on similar charges.
